I've been going here for years, and the food's always good. My favorites are the fried fish, steamed okra, jerk wings, honey barbecue wings, fried wings, salmon, and the best curry chicken I've had in a long time. The potato salad is great, and so are the rice&peas, but I had to chill out with the carbs, so I don't order them as much.
While they serve regular meals, I always opt for the buffet, which is pretty reasonable per pound (seafood entrees, served on Fridays and Saturdays, cost a few dollars/pound extra).
Regardless of what time I go there (they're open late, but I'm not sure what time they close), the food is always fresh, most likely because of customers constantly coming in. I haven't yet tried any of the desserts, but the chicken soup and fish tea are amazing. -

So I was born and raised over in Brownsville but went to the Army some years ago and now I'm living in the Mount Vernon section of Alexandria VA right outside of D.C. aka "The Swamp". My mother lives a few blocks over on Pacific Street and whenever her and the rest of the fam drive down to visit me she brings me a "ton" of the oxtails and rice along with some mac n cheese.....the food is DOPE!
I've had a lot of oxtails from different spots in Bklyn and I make them as well in my Instant Pot but these are the best BAR NONE! I could eat them every week but I would get pudgy and that would be a bad look for my tall athletic frame. I would have given them 5 stars but I have yet to personally see the spot or talk to the staff which I plan to do real soon. Peace to the cooks who prepare this food, I salute you all! -

This is a small space with about two tables. It's the kind of place you may see, but pass by without a thought. Nevertheless, they have really good food. I'm a sucker for the bbq and/or jerk chicken wings. The jerk chicken sandwich is hearty and flavorful, as is the fish offerings.
Everything, except the sandwiches is served buffet-style (pay by the pound), so go early for lunch or right after the afternoon shift (around 4:30 PM) for fresh, hot food. The online menu varies from what's presented in the restaurant. I prefer the online menu, except for the fact that I can go bbq chicken wing crazy in the store.
Solid West Indian/American food staples, a clean but small space, with enough options to keep it interesting. -

Great buffet lunch spot.
I always ALMOST hit my price mark when I say "self, self you're paying $6.00 today!" When they weigh my bowl it's $6.62, $7.39 once it was $11.79! I blame those heavy oxtail bones (at that time).
They also serve breakfast but I haven't had the pleasure yet.
Food is good. Staff nice. Spot very clean. I've seen the lady manning the queue, remind folks to cleanse their hands with the (giant bottles of) hand sanitizer provided at the start of the queue and on tables throughout.
I apprecilove them for the courtesy of being able to choose how much I pay. Oh, card minimum is $10.

Callaloo was flavorful and tender. Definitely a step up from spinach. The cabbage stir fry had good crunch. The corned beef hash with tomatoes was scrumptious but oh so unfriendly on the hips. Oxtail in stewed peas was a first and interesting. I guess I'm not much of a bean stew person but oxtail anything can't be bad. The jerk pork was fatty, heavily seasoned and unevenly cooked. (Their jerk ch is much better)
Very solid spot and super popular esp during lunch. A wee pricey along this stretch but dependably good.
